NC Veterans Council’s 2016 Legislative Goals:
– Allow service members to retain their earned priority of receiving Medicaid home and community based service waivers.
-Ensure that active duty service members re-enrolling in Community Colleges receive tuition assistance that does not exceed available federal tuition assistance.
-Ensure ability of partially disabled Veterans to park in handicapped persons parking space with appropriate medical requirements and VA disability determination.
-Support the establishment of a Woman Veterans license plate.
-Increase visibility of current veterans employment data as a state measurement of being the most Veteran friendly state.
-Ensure equal tax treatment of federal, state, local, and military benefits.
